“Do you want to make available your personal information” option in SSC forms 2022
1. While filling forms like SSC (Staff Selection Commission) many of us came across this term ->
DoP & T’s O.M.No. 39020 /1/2016-Estt.(B) and it asks us whether we want to provide our private information or not. Moreover, the statement is sometimes like this “Do you want to make available your Personal Information for the accessing job opportunity in terms of DoP & T’s O.M.No. 39020 /1/2016-Estt.(B) dated 21.06.2016 ?”
2. DoP & T's O.M.No. 39020 /1/2016 stands for -
Department of Personnel and Training, Office Memorandum number – 39020 /1/2016.
That is to say, it is a written notice by the Indian government which says that the government has approved the proposal of NITI Aayog.
The proposal is to make scores and ranking of candidates publicly available in recruitment examinations for increasing job opportunities for the unemployed.
In other words, if you allow this, your marks and rank of the exam will be displayed publicly in the future, so, anybody can see it.
3. Following additional details of the candidates will also be displayed with the score:-
(a) Name of the candidate
(b) Father/Husband’s name
(c) Date of Birth
(d) Category (Gen/SC/ST/OBC/PH/Minority)
(e) Male/Female/Transgender
(f) Educational Qualifications
(g) Total Marks obtained in the qualifying examination
(h) Rankings by which the merit is decided
(i) Complete address
(j) E-mail address
4. Benefit of selecting 'Yes'
The real question is What is the benefit of clicking yes to ” Do you want to make available your personal Information for the accessing job opportunity in terms of DoP & T’s O.M.No. 39020 /1/2016-Estt.(B) dated 21.06.2016 “.
By clicking yes, all the other recruiting agencies like UPSC, SSC, RRB etc. shall also be able to see your results and hence can make your entry to their jobs or post if you qualify.
However, is not officially said anywhere in the letter.
The official words on the website -> “Government has approved the proposal of NITI Aayog for making available publicly scores and ranking of candidates in recruitment examinations through the portal for increasing access of the unemployed to job opportunities.”
5. Loss of selecting 'Yes'
Well, Clearly most of the people reading this post will not like sharing all this personal information publicly.
Therefore, if you like privacy more, then choose no. Above all, personal Information is called personal for a reason.
6. So, What to do if you don't understood any of that:-
So, if you are not understanding what to do, just select ‘NO’ and proceed.
In short, If you like your privacy and don’t want your exam result and personal information to be publicly available, select ‘No’.
However, if you badly need a job and personal information isn’t that big issue for you, go ahead and select ‘YES’.

But, bhayya ye option ka niche “ please see para 21 of the notice” bolke likha hua. Para 21 me “ proceed to make fee payment if you are not exempted from payment of fee” what is the relation between “this para 21”and “u want to make your personal information available”.I don’t understand this.
